Making School Work, P.I.

A central mission of Making School Work, P.L., a private law firm, is to inform parents of disabled K-12 students what their school options are – private, neighborhood public, magnet, virtual, home and charter schools – and what the pros and cons of each option are given their child’s unique educational needs. Allison Hertog, the founder of Making School Work and a former special ed teacher, is one of only a handful of attorneys in the country who has a Masters degree in special education. She uses her knowledge and experience to help parents of disabled students maximize their rights in public school as well as their amount of the John McKay Scholarship, a special needs voucher to private schools.
